Thanks to federal, provincial, and even utility-level incentives, homeowners can save thousands by making the switch to renewable energy. Here are some of the key programs available in BC right now:

🔄 Net Metering (BC Hydro & FortisBC)

If you're a customer of BC Hydro or FortisBC, you can take advantage of net metering. This program lets you earn energy credits for any extra electricity your solar panels generate. Those credits can be used to offset your electricity usage when your system isn’t producing — like at night or during cloudy months.

🌞 $5,000 BC Hydro Solar Rebate

BC Hydro now offers a rebate of $1,000 per kW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, up to a maximum of $5,000—covering up to 50% of your eligible installation costs (including labour and materials). A 5 kW system would fully maximize the rebate.

💰 Federal Greener Homes Rebates & Loans

The Canada Greener Homes Initiative provides up to $5,000 in rebates and access to interest-free loans up to $40,000 for homeowners who install eligible solar systems.
